‘Tis the season for new year resolutions, promises and commitments. Seems like 2020 should be a great year to create new vision and focus on those things that really matter in your business and in our personal lives.
The root word for resolution is RESOLVE – which means a “firm determination to accomplish something of meaning”. Living our lives and leading our businesses with meaning and purpose are certainly the root words for joy, happiness and fulfillment as well.
I have a friend and colleague named Jennifer who likes to identify three focus words at the beginning of each new year. They become her mantra and keep her grounded to her journey. My words for 2020 are health, joy and harmony (especially since I love playing music with others). The key is staying resolved and committed to the mantra and its implications.

I am replaying a blog I wrote from back in 2017 because it has one of my favorite lists of New Year’s Resolutions from Woodie Guthrie way back in 1943. Two of my favorite Guthrie resolutions (of the 33 he lists) are #15 – Learn People Better and #18 – Stay Glad.
